Look What I Did: 2011

The year is quickly coming to a close and rather than look at my hobby table and dwell on all of the work I need to get done, I'll choose on this day to reminisce on all that I have actually accomplished. It's been a busy/full year for me for the hobby, and I didn't fully realize this until I actually put some thought into it. With the AdMech fandex taking up more than half of the year and Necrons coming out towards the end, I've been swamped, but very delighted. I'm looking forward to 2012 and all it will bring. Traitor Legions, 6th Edition, the end of the world; the list goes on. As for 2011, I present to you the start of the newest article series I have dubbed; Look What I Did.

Happy *Enter Whatever You Want Here* From TLA!

(Picture From Hull's Angels)

Lantz here. As a heads up, due to the holidays I don't believe Eric or myself are going to be posting much of anything this week or next. He has a family and I have alcohol that needs my sincere and undivided attention. And with the weather being uncommonly warm around here, I am forced to enjoy the outdoors while I can. So, no matter what you celebrate this time of year, even if you don't celebrate anything at all and spit on those that do, I hope all of our readers have a wonderful weekend and after the New Year's Eric and I will be back in full force!

From TLA: Happy Holidays everyone!

Strategy: Necron Warrior Blob

Lantz here. Some of you may be asking, what happened to all the hobby talk on TLA? That's a fair question. With the AdMech set to the side for now (a project that's half hobby and half fandex creation,) hobby-related posts have dwindled. For those of you that come to my humble abode for such posts I apologize that you're not seeing what you want as of late, but I assure you there are a few conversions coming along that I'll be posting about in the near future. Until then, the Necrons are my muse as of late and learning how they work and what models I want to purchase is my current focus. Every week for a month or so now I've been posting battle reports with the Necrons, but this time around I wanted to take a week off and have an enjoyable game. Fear not, rules-readers, I'm not going to leave you hanging. This week I want to discuss an up-and-coming Necron setup that seems to be raising a ruckus in and outside of my gaming group: The Warrior Blob.

Battle Report: Necrons vs IG

Just Picture The Robot Sucking Out Souls And The Chick In A Sergeant's Hat And The Chess Board As A Battle Of Epic Propor....You Know, This Metaphor May Be Getting Out Of Hand. Just Enjoy The Chick's Hotness.

Lantz and Eric here! We're going to be attempting something a little unorthodox; a collaborative battle report. This is our first attempt at such a thing so bare with us while we work out the kinks. This week we wanted to try some Necron on IG action. 1500pts was our mark for this game. We had to use our secondary table as the main table was in use by the other members of our gaming group, the only downside is that it's a 4x4 instead of the standard 4x6, which gave Necrons and their mid-range shooting expertise the advantage. How much of an advantage? Find out more after the break.

Battle Report: Necrons Team Game

The Moral Of This Tale; Watch Your...Well, You Get It.

It's no secret that when playing against a Deep Striking army, more specifically Drop Pod armies, you should always be prepared to take a shot or seventeen up the rear. However, I feel like this isn't taken as seriously as it should at times. Everyone at our table took Deep Striking possibilities seriously, of course; we're just cool like that, but the overall thought process that goes into Deep Striking is typically incorrect from what I've gathered over the years. It's not about denying your opponent the chance to Deep Strike, it's about denying them the confidence to do so. Placement down the board is just as important as placement of units up the board when it comes to fighting against a Deep Strike army. You'll see what I mean in the pages to come.

Fifth Game With The Necrons

(Beautifully Painted By Sigur)
A BatRep About Necrons? Oh No; This Is The Story Of Vulkan The Un-Woundable...

With the holidays and whatnot, I only managed to get in one game with the Necrons this week. It was a large game, though, which I do enjoy most of the time. This week I wanted to try out a list that I made a few weeks ago that looked good on paper, but I wasn't really sure how it would perform. The list I made had a single purpose; anti-horde. While we don't see much horde in 5th with vehicles being the end-all be-all solution to pretty much everything, the option to make a list is in the pages of the new Necron codex and I wanted to give it a go. Unfortunately I probably ended up losing some friends this week... More after the jump.

Shout Out: Stolen Eldar Army

A quick shout out, today. And I actually meant to post this earlier in the week when I saw it; sadly I'm easily distracted by shiny objects and have had little to no sleep this month. Anywho, R3con over at Mi40k has posted about his buddy's Eldar army being stolen right out of his car. The above picture may or may not be the perpetrator and may or may not be a Google image. Who knows... So spread the word, if you spot his Eldar (info found here) be sure to jump over and contact the victim so he may be reunited with his time, work and effort in the form of space elves again.

PS, I find it ironic his occupation is Insurance. Not a fun situation, of course, but I giggled.

November 23, 2011

Conversion: Imperial Jetbikes Kitbash

This week I'll be looking at a conversion that I've worked on for about a month as the parts for it slowly rolled in. You may remember my review of these bikes over at MWC a ways back, and that's what I used for the bike itself. This wasn't the tricky part, though, but I'll get to that in a bit. After the break I'll walk you through the steps taken to create a Skitarii Jetbike found in my FanDex.

Fourth Game With The Necrons

Welcome back my fellow self-repairing brethren and sister..en? Growing up in an overly religious household, I grew to loathe Sundays. What was to be the weekend for all of my friends was another day of sitting quietly in a large room full of equally-bored children at a desk with nothing to do but count how many little hole thingies there were in the ceiling tiles, praying to god (pun intended) that the day would end. If organized religion is your thing; more power to you and I mean no offense, it's just not my bag. Getting back on point, Sundays used to be the bane of my week. Now that I'm in my twenties and capable of allowed to make my own decisions, things are much more enjoyable and Sundays are one of the best days of the week. Why? It's 40k day! This week I went into a team-game scenario with the new Necron dex, something I have yet to do since my first game, and it was quite fun. This game, more than any, I learned a lot about the balance of the Necrons when constructing a list, but I'll go over that in full detail after the jump.

November 18, 2011

Conversion: Caminus-Priest Unit Complete!

Welcome back! Today I've got a project I've had finished for about a week, but with all of this Necron business going on I haven't had a chance to post about. You may remember my Caminus-Priest project and the voting that went along with it. As for the voting, you people wanted legs, so legs you shall have! As for the conversion, I needed two more of these guys to reach the minimum model count for the unit and decided to wrangle some different poses. More pics after the break.

November 17, 2011

Third Game With The Necrons

Hello readers! This week I managed to get in two games with the Necrons and for this game I attended KHops' abode. KHops is somewhat new to the 40k scene (clarification as he was not happy with this statement; KHops is not a noob,) and so his basement hasn't been overtaken by ridiculous amounts of plastic like Eric's has. What does this mean? It means no proxying for me. It means that the following list should not be scrutinized for its poor make-up as I'm just working with what I've got, here...okay, feel free to scrutinize anyway... Having around 1850pts in Necrons before the new dex, I found myself scrambling to get to 1500pts with the lowered points cost of, well...everything. A full breakdown after the jump.

November 15, 2011

Shout Out: Porky's List Entry

Warpstone Flux is holding a contest for army list entries and the voting has begun! Now, I didn't have a chance to participate in this contest, so why am I giving a shout out? Well, the Porkster himself has entered an Adeptus Mechanicus list for this contest using my FanDex as a ruleset! Currently Mr. Porky is behind by a couple of votes, so check out the lists here and if you're a fan, vote for him!

More posts on the way!

Second Game With The Necrons

Hello and welcome back. Last time I talked about my first game with the new Necron codex and how it went quite well. After mulling over the book in an obsessive fashion after that game it became apparent to me that I cheated in a few ways and thought I'd researched enough through the book for it to never happen again. Well, it did, but more on that later. For now I'll explain the picture above; the list I was trying to build for a tiny game this week was an AV13 wall at 1000pts. With high point costs on pretty much every vehicle I thought this was impossible, but ended up working out pretty well. More after the break.

November 7, 2011

First Game With The Necrons

If you haven't checked out my codex review over at MWC for the Necrons, I'll be continuing it all week long. And as someone with a horrible memory, I'll say that if you want to memorize a codex; write a review on it. It's not just helping the community, it's helping me, too. Anywho, tonight I played my first game with the Necron's new rules and it's...umm, powerful. We ended up playing 3 vs 2 with me playing 2000 and everyone else playing 1000. My team was Necrons and IG fighting Dark Angels, CSM Nurgle and Vulcan SM. With 1000pts per player other than myself there wasn't a lot of transports out and while I only needed to bring 2 troops in my list I thought it was fair for me to bring 4 since I was taking more points than everyone else. So let's get to the breakdown.

November 4, 2011

5th Edition Necrons
A Quick Review

As some of you might know, I'll be doing a full unit-by-unit review of the new Necrons over at MWC later this week when I've had time to mull over the whole thing six or fifty-seven times. Speaking of which, Christmas came early! So last night I received the new Necrons a couple of days early. I'm excited to get started on my review for MWC, but until I've given the book more than a once-over I want to toss a little bit of my opinion on the new rules. More after the break.

Shout Out: KHop And Mr. Lemon

Ooo, Pretty!

It's been a bit since I've posted, but there will be a flood of posts incoming; and that's really what this post is about. With the Necrons coming close to release, I'm slowing down on the AdMech conversions and I'll be pushing out the last few conversion posts on them this and next week. Lucky for me, as you've seen, the newest version of the AdMech FanDex has been pushed out and is available here. I'm still reading your emails and will be updating the rest of the FAQ page eventually; once I have everything figured out on that front. As for right now, I have some AdMech and Necron work for you all. More after the break.

Necrons In White Dwarf

I Peed A Little...

The Necron Codex, long awaited for over 9 years, is about to be released. And so, leaks keep pouring in. As of yesterday, however, the newest WD was released and with it a focus on Necrons (go figure.) Courtesy of the fine author TastyTaste over at BoK here is a free link to the Necron-pages of the newest White Dwarf. Inside you'll find more defined fluff and rules that we'll be seeing next week. You can find the PDF here.

Enjoy!

Rumors: (Necrons Round 2) Necron Fluff Leaked

I keep getting woken up from sleep by the most delightful things! McRibs, gin and tonic and most importantly Necron leaks! This morning we had a plethora of leaks via Yakface of DakkaDakka delving not only into more rules, but tons of fluff! Now I have somewhere to be and only a few more minutes to post about this, but I'll be providing commentary later, for now be sure and let us know what you think! The full list of leaks after the break:

Rumors: Necron Photos Leaked and Discussion

Just a quick link here for you Necron followers of TLA. I posted up a listing of Necron leaked photos and discussion on each picture over at MWC. Head on over and check it out! There's some pretty snazzy looking models in our future. I'm particularly fond of the Lychguard myself.

For the C'tan!

Picture Dump: Gametime Without The AdMech?

As the next version of the fandex draws to a close (still not giving a set date,) I've gone into a lull of playing with the fandex. Closed-beta playtesting ended last month and since then I've directed my attention elsewhere.
Which may or may not have included some resin-casting....

Review: Ultramarines Movie

Yes, I know. I'm extremely late on the whole Ultramarines movie viewing. Much to my chagrin, I was put-off on taking the time to see it as friends informed me the animation was almost painful to watch. While other reviews I had read made smaller mention of this imperfection, the overall assessment of the movie seemed to be an acclaimed one, critically or otherwise. After almost a year since the movie has come out, I've found a few things in the movie I don't feel others have picked up on. More after the break.

(Poll Closed) Conversion: Caminus-Priest Kitbash

Just a quick post. The poll for whether or not to keep this test model's legs or rip them off in a violent fashion finished last week and it looks like the legs are here to stay. I'd like to thank all those who participated, as this is how the model will remain for the fandex itself.

More conversions on the way, and hopefully a fandex as well. ;)

Rumors: Necron Warrior and Immortal Stats?

(Click For Larger View)

Found on BoLS, the newest rumor for our favorite zombie-bots are the supposed stats for Warriors and Immortals. While at first glance this looks completely legit, let's be honest; anyone could duplicate GW's format for unit info. Hell, I've been doing it for over a year! But, as usual, let's make the assumption that these rumors are 100% legit and assess the situation:

September 11, 2011

(Poll) Conversion: Caminus-Priest Kitbash

Hello and welcome back to yet another Adeptus Mechanicus conversion. This time around I've got a unit from the Elites section of the fandex that I've been quite gitty to complete; the Caminus-Priest. In its current form, the Caminus-Priest unit is pretty overpowered (this will be corrected in the next version coming out soon) and I see a lot of you playtesters using these guys a lot. Unfortunately for you, this unit will be toned down so it's in-line with its point cost. Until this happens, however, enjoy its rampage and enjoy the following kitbash tutorial. More after the break.

Rumors: Necrons
(Labor Day Special)

If you're like me and you don't want a day to end, you'll somehow convince yourself that if you keep avoiding bed it won't have to end! It'll go on forever! Work tomorrow? Pfft, I'll deal with that when it gets here. For many of you tonight may be one of those nights. A lot of us, not including myself and Eric, enjoyed a holiday weekend and hate to see it fade away with the setting sun. Luckily for you, you've got a friend here at TLA that will assist you in extending this holiday out to its fullest extent. This evening I've got a complete list of the more reputable Necron rumors as we 'cron-lovers await our rightful destiny; a competitive codex. All of these rumors come from Blood of Kittens' and Bell of Lost Souls' blogs and their hard work compiling these rumors on a semi-regular basis. Enjoy!

Conversion: Phantous

My Apologies Once Again. Those Outside The United States May Not Understand This Reference. In Fact, I Hope No One Does...

Welcome back. This post is going to be quite long with a lot of pictures for those of you who like the whole visualizing thing this blog has going. The Phantous has been in question by a small few of you playtesters as to what it should look like. How big is it? What does the weapon look like? Will it make my pilot look fat? Unfortunately for all of us it took Chapterhouse Studios longer than expected to push out their Wheeled-Chimera kit. Once that was finally available to the public it was time to get to work. And a lot of work is what this thing took. More after the break:

Conversion: Machine Cultists

Great Dedication To The Machine Spirits Of Our Day.
Unfortunately, You've Chosen A Douchey-Hipster Overpriced Machine Spirit That Thinks It's Better Than You.

Hello, welcome and my apologize from any involuntary puking that may have been a result of the picture above. The conversion train is a rollin', still, and this week I've got those rambunctious little duders that worship and preach the Omnissiah's name; Machine Cultists. If there's any model in the fandex that took far too long to find exactly what I had in mind, it's these guys. After a couple of months of searching for a set of models that captured just what I wanted for this unit, I finally came across the Menoth Choir set from Privateer Press' Warmachine and fell in love. These guys have just enough sci-fi going on, while also remaining very old-school that they were perfect for my Machine Cultists. Below is the conversion from Menoth to AdMech.

August 22, 2011

Conversion: Leman Russ Rapier

Holy crap it's been a long while since I've posted any work. That's mostly because I, well, haven't done any work. Also, for the few that managed to keep up, our URL has finally been changed. The downside? The transition didn't work as I'd hoped and I'm constantly getting emails asking where the hell we went. Traffic took a massive decline from ~1000 views a week to ~100 a week. So if you're one of the few that's managed to find us, again, spread the word about our URL change; we're not dead. Moving along, today our weekly game of 40k got canceled due to Eric feeling under the weather, so I actually managed to get some model-work done. This time around it was finally time to finish up all of the Leman Russ variants the fandex has to offer ending with the Rapier. So without further adieu:

August 16, 2011

Alert: URL Change Complete!

The time has finally come. Now our URL makes sense and the OCD within my cranium will allow me to sleep at night. Seriously, it's been months since I've gotten a good night of rest because of this whole URL thing. That's either affected my posts in a good or bad way; we'll soon find out. Our change from the old www.themagnetpro.blogspot.com to the new www.twin-linked-awesome.blogspot.com is now officially complete.

Tell your friends!

August 11, 2011

Alert: URL Change

After many months of transition between The Magnet Pro, The Midnight Shift and Twin-Linked Awesome, the day has finally come to make our final merge together. Soon that themagnetpro.blogspot.com URL you see at the top of your browser (or at the bottom, you fuckin' weirdos,) will be changed to twin-linked-awesome.blogspot.com in the final step of Eric and I's merger. All of our previous articles will still be here, but will officially be under the Twin Linked Awesome name. What do our followers need to do? Absolutely nothing. Unless you're using some in-a-dark-corner RSS feed because it's "hip" and "cool" that doesn't shift URL tracking for you, followers shouldn't need to take any action on their part.

I'll be making an announcement when this work is complete.

My First Tourney: Post-Game

If My Opponents Looked Like This It Would Have Been A Better Day...

So my first tourney has come and gone and I have to admit it wasn't that bad. I went in expecting last place and beat my own assumption in a pretty big way. My opponents ranged from WAAC to "quirky" to laid back to really cool. As a recap from my first post, this tournament had an 842 point cap on 4x4 tables with each table having its own "theme" that changed up the rules from crazy stuff to boring as hell. As an example there was an ice-planet table where you could slip and slide on in the movement phase. I don't know the details on that one as I wasn't lucky enough to play on it, but Eric can probably post a comment on it below. Anywho, I'm rambling, so let's get to it! Five short battle reports after the jump.

Shout Out: Last Day For HoA Raffle Entries!

First thing's first. If you haven't heard of Heroes of Armageddon, then you been living underneath a solidified mineral composite. If you don't know what HoA is, head on over to the link here and read all about it, and quickly! The opportunity to win this, or this, or this, or even this is running out! Each army comes with custom dice, custom markers, custom game-templates and more! With every donation made for the raffle also goes to Doctors Without Borders charity. You can win stuff and help out a great cause, what's not to love? So, seriously, I have to ask...Why are you still here reading this post? Why aren't you donating? Why aren't you drooling over these armies?

Get to it!

My First Tourney, The Lantz McDonald Story

Friends have a way of persuading us outside of our comfort zone, we all know this to be true. I'll be honest, I'm sometimes swayed easily, especially if a good idea catches me off guard. However, through and through I thought I would never participate in a 40k tournament. It's just not my style, winning isn't a big deal for me in general and playing a game of any kind against someone who is WAAC makes for a less than entertaining day for someone like myself. I love playing 40k with friends in a happy-go-mom-jokes environment. It's easy, it's fun and it costs less than a prostitute up until the latest GW price hike. But, here I am, three years into my 40k journey preparing for a tourney.. After attending some tournaments for cheering on friends I have to admit it doesn't seem as obnoxious as I thought it was. My expectations typically do have a way of superseding any real-world situations, and I'm hoping this is one of those instances. The tournament is tomorrow and I'm almost prepped and ready to go, so what did I do to prepare for this and what are my expectations? More after the jump.

Shout Out: Mr. Lemon Tres

Hello again. Posts have been scarce lately, and for that I apologize. It's summer time, and with that comes busy schedules of pool parties, outdoor recreation, boating, BBQs and puking your guts out from food poisoning via said BBQs. With all of this going on, I've barely had time to work on anything tabletop related and I'm currently down to one game of 40k a week. Sad, I know. I'm chalking this all up to being busy, but I'll be honest, a fair portion is from being easily distracted by shiny things. Fortunately for me, Mr. Lemon is still at it and is immune to the distraction of shiny things! Below are some peeks at his work on my AdMech as of late.

July 2, 2011

Shout Out: Fame? Fortune? Green Stuff? MWC

Ah, summer time. Swimming pools, barbeques, watermelons and more importantly, tabletop contests. And even more important than that, short skirts. But we'll focus on the contest thing for now. MWC, for which I am a writer, is starting up a monthly conversion contest with some pretty great prizes on top of getting some fame around the web. Check out all the details here and get those exacto-knives sharpened!

Good luck!

Shout Out: Inquisitor Lord Aki

Sorry for the lack of posting this week; I've been on vacation and just recently returned, trying to catch back up on what I've missed in and out of the realm of 40k. Today's post is just a quick Shout Out, and mostly a thank you to Inquisitor Lord Aki. Recently he started up a give-away, though a way to test some marketing concepts, the generosity is still present. Unfortunately, PayPal slapped him with a ruling which forced him to end his project early. The upside? Yours truly won! So, many thanks to Lord Aki and a thank you to the academy.

"But, Lantz. You don't play IG. Why would you want a Valk?" Let's just say I forsee a Cantharis conversion for you players of the fandex in the near future.

Best wishes to you all.

June 20, 2011

Shout Out: SeƱor Darrel

Hello and welcome back! Today's post will be another picture dump of sorts, with a Shout Out to my buddy SeƱor Darrel. If you remember my light-bright Monolith project from almost exactly a year ago, this project will look a tad familiar. This thing, thanks to Necron's rules becoming worse and worse as more 5th Edition codices come out, has been collecting dust in the mean time. It was only when SeƱor Darrel offered to paint it up in exchange for using it in a local tourney did this thing come off the shelf. After the amazing painting job I slapped on some Quickshade and anti-shine varnish, put all the glowy tubes back in and voila! Now, even with all of the AdMech progress, this thing is easily in my top three favorite projects now that it's completed. Below are the showings-off of Darrel's painting expertise, enjoy!

June 14, 2011

Conversion: Leman Russ Butcher

Pretty Scary, Right?

Just a quick conversion for today. The Leman Russ variants are a pivotal part of the Heavy slot choices in the fandex, currently and in the upcoming version 3. While I wanted each one to have a unique look, for the way the Butcher works I felt a big ol' cannon would do the trick. More after the jump.

More Game Time With The AdMech

Well, I hit a milestone on Monday. It started with a couple of my gaming buddies wanting to go up to our FLGS to play some 1850 games in preparation for their tournament. I've never actually played a game of 40k in public before; you can chalk it up to my less than average playing skills, inability to retain rule-knowledge or never having painted models, but the fact of the matter is I've avoided tournaments and public play as a general rule. However, at this point in my gaming carrier I've developed a functioning rulebook for the AdMech, I have actual painted models; and while my memory problems still haven't changed, two out of three ain't too shabby. More after the break.

June 12, 2011

Shout Out: MWC Knight Titan

Just a quick Shout Out, today. Matt at MWC is opening up sales for Knight Titans one last time to the public. These casts come with multiple weapon and head options on request. The molds are very nice looking and well worth a look. If you're interested, hop on over to this post and check it out. Even if you have no interest in purchasing, the pictures are worth a look!

Later days.

June 10, 2011

Conversion: Luceo Rollers

Yeah, Pretty Much...

This time around I've got a small look into one of the new units coming out in the next version of the fandex; Luceo Rollers. These little guys are essentially scrapped-together drones that carry an explosive around with them. To accomplish this I purchased some models from Black Cat Bases which I reviewed over at MWC this week. This is a pretty simple conversion, but works in a basing strategy that turned out well. More after the jump.

June 9, 2011

Shout Out: Free Stuff

Video Games, Yes. The Chick? Mine.

Just a quick Shout Out. Matt at MWC and his infinite list of connections is going to try and get some free 40k-based pre-release copies of the numerous games coming out from GW. For full details head on over to this post here and get your name in! Seriously... I'm jealous of you people, as a writer of MWC I can't even have a chance at this stuff. You know what? You guys are jerks. Just click on your precious link and leave me alone.

Best wishes.

June 8, 2011

Conversion: The Forsaken

Wrong Forsaken

I'm back with another conversion for the AdMech. This time around it's The Forsaken. I must say finding appropriate models for this unit has been quite the task, but after Matt over at MWC sending me a link about a month ago to Blight Wheel Miniatures I had finally found them. Now, if you've read my review of these guys over at MWC you'll be caught up to speed about what to expect. These guys all came with numerous bits and after my conversion every model out of the twenty is completely unique from one another. How did I accomplish this? Find out after the jump.

Shout Out: Mr. Lemon 2
(The New Camera Story)

"Geez, get a lightbox you two."

For this Shout Out I'm back to Mr. Lemon and his painting talents. If you haven't seen the previous post with his work on my models, I suggest you got check it out. However, this time around we'll have a little twist added in. After almost three years I finally have a new camera, and well... it's a poop-load better than my previous one. So going down the line of photos we'll transition from one camera to the other and we'll see if you, the viewer, can spot the change. The first one to do so wins smug satisfaction. Aaaaand, go!

Conversion: Leman Russ Vladd

Welcome back. This week I've got a conversion that I really enjoyed and will be the envy of all of my small-weaponed friends; the Leman Russ Vladd. This thing comes equipped with a Conversion Beamer, and while there's a model for this weapon in the Codex: Space Marines, I always felt the only S10 weapon in the dex was less than impressive model-wise. For my Conversion Beamer I wanted something that really stood out against all other weapons and gave a clear indication as to how small my manhood really is, err. Anyway. If you have seen my review of Armorcast over at MWC you'll recognize the weapon I'm speaking of. More after the break.

Shout Out: Gaming All Areas

Hello there! Well, I thought it'd be nice to take a break from all the AdMech posts I've been pushing lately and toss in a Shout Out post. This time around we have Tenzing posting about an alternative to the current 40k rule-set in the way of Initiative. Discussing this would require a post just as large as his, so I recommend you take a peek for yourself. As a codex-creator, this thought provoking post is something I drooled over and hope to convince my gaming group to give a shot at (that's right, the alternative he describes is playtestable.) So go and check out Gaming All Areas; you won't be disappointed.

Until next time.

TLA on 11th Company!

That's right! This week myself and Marcus from MWC made it on The 11th Company episode 71. During Pat's segment, Pat's Corner we discuss MWC's plan for the present and future along with Grey Knights and the AdMech FanDex. Our segment begins at 37:13, but the entire episode is worth listening as usual. As my favorite podcast and a huge source for where I learn my strategies, this interview was very exciting for me. Take a listen and let me know what you think!

Later days!

Conversion: Cult Abomination

Aww... They're So Cute At That Age

Aaaand welcome back. I'll start this conversion post by saying I normally will do conversions to save money. If you look back you'll find numerous examples of this. Unfortunately, I can be stubborn. When an idea hits me for a model and I really want it to happen, I'll make it happen. Even if the costs to see it through are a bit steep (see Wraith Lord.) Another unfortunate circumstance for my wallet is the AdMech as a whole. While the first year of writing the fandex saved me hundreds on purchasing literally nothing in the way of models; now that it's nearing completion I'm in the mode of purchasing models for it. The thing with the fandex is, there are specific units I created within it that I had a vivid vision for, and thus want it to look exactly right. The Cult Abomination is one of those units, and getting what I wanted to create my original vision took the last bit of my spare money for the month. Worth it? Let's find out.
